-
Orthotics are custom-made devices worn on the outside of the body to help improve movement, support, alignment, comfort, and protection.
-
An Orthotics assessment will take up to an hour. It consists of a medical history taking, bringing any relevant scans and medical reports, followed by a manual muscle testing of the limb. This is followed by a standing and gait assessment, looking at the biomechanics of your movement. A prescription of an orthosis and quote and a report will be supplied.
The orthosis will be anything from the same day to 4-6 weeks, depending on the device being supplied and the approval process from your funding body.
-
Orthotists are allied health professionals who specialise in assessing, designing, and fitting custom orthotic devices tailored to your specific goals and requirements.
